ClockUnit is a free, browser-based collection of time tools. We have built this service with privacy as a default — not a setting. This page explains what data exists, where it lives, and who can see it.
The short version: ClockUnit does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information about you. There is no account system, no login, no analytics fingerprint, and no advertising infrastructure.
ClockUnit stores your tool preferences (such as timer sound selection, volume, and session settings) in your browser's localStorage. This data lives entirely on your device. It is never sent to our servers because we do not run a server-side database.
localStorage data is scoped to your browser and device. It persists between sessions so your settings are remembered. It is automatically cleared when you clear your browser's site data.
We do not collect your name, email address, IP address, location, or any other personally identifiable information.
We do not use advertising networks, third-party tracking pixels, or behavioural analytics platforms.
We do not place persistent tracking cookies on your device.
We do not sell, share, or monetise data of any kind.
ClockUnit is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may log request metadata (such as IP addresses and request paths) for infrastructure purposes under their own privacy policy. We do not have access to or control over this data.
We use Google Fonts to load typefaces. Your browser may send a request to Google's font CDN when loading a ClockUnit page. Google's privacy policy governs that interaction.
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Some tools (such as the Countdown Timer and Pomodoro Timer) can send browser notifications when a timer completes. This feature is entirely opt-in — we request permission before enabling it, and you can revoke permission at any time through your browser settings.
Notification permission is stored by your browser, not by ClockUnit. We do not log whether you granted or denied permission.
ClockUnit does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Because we collect no personal information from any user, no special measures are required beyond the baseline described in this policy.
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page and revise the effective date below. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
Continued use of ClockUnit after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have questions about this privacy policy, please contact us at support@clockunit.com.
We keep the explanation as quiet and direct as the product itself.
